CPIA is governed by a National Board of Directors made up of representatives from each of its Formally Affiliated Regional Associations as well as Elected Officers for the Positions of Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary-Treasurer and Directors-At-Large. A national supplier representative also sits on CPIA's Board. The President of the Association, while an officer of the Corporation, is not a member of CPIA's Board.

The Association operates with the assistance of non-voting committees, which may include the Government Affairs Committee and the Policies and Procedures Committee as well as a Nominating and Membership Committees.
